Huawei P30 Pro Price, Specs and Review
Huawei has once again set a benchmark in the flagship line of smartphones by announcing its new flagship smartphone Huawei P30 Pro. Huawei P30 Pro is a camera centered device featuring quad camera setup at rear side.
Before, we dive into the review of Huawei P30 Pro, let us have a look over the specs sheet of Huawei P30 Pro.
Processor - Kirin 980, octa-core
RAM - 6GB/8GB
Storage - 128GB/256GB/512GB
Software - EMUI 9.1, based on Android Pie
Rear Cameras - 40MP + 20MP + 8MP + TOF sensor

The glass materials on both front and rear sides are curved towards their longer sides which makes the P30 Pro easy to handle. The bezels are very less but you will find a small chin at the bottom of the phone. P30 Pro provides usual placements of sim-tray, type-C port, speaker vent, volume rocker amd power switcher. Unfortunately, there is no headphone jack.
The notch used here is a waterdrop-type which surely is less intrusive and offers a better screen-to-body ratio of above 90%.
The display on Huawei P30 Pro looks quite bright, punchier. The blacks on the screen looks amazing, thanks to the AMOLED panel used. The display provides great viewing angles and great colour reproduction. But, I would love to see a QHD+ panel instead of a Full-HD+ used.
On the GPU front, it is the Mali-G76 MP10 which is a worthy upgrade over Mali-G72 used in Kirin 970.
The processor comes with dual NPU chip for offering AI stuffs which can recognize up to 4500 images per minute.
As already mentioned, Huawei P30 Pro is a cameras centric smartphone which comes with quad cameras setup on the back side. The quad cameras comprises of a primary 40MP shooter with F/1.6 lens, a ultra-wide angle 20MP camera with f/2.2 lens, a 8MP F/3.4 periscope telephoto lens which offers 5x optical zoom and finally a ToF camera for 3D effects and better depth sensing.
40MP SuperSpectrum Sensor
The primary camera is 40MP (F/1.6) which has been given the name of SuperSpectrum. Huawei has replaced the traditional RGBG filter with a new RYYB filter by swapping out the green pixels by yellow pixels. Huawei claims that this new sensor will provide a maximum ISO rating of up to 409,600 and 40% more light than a RGB one.
This camera sensor uses Quad-Bayer filter to turn a 10MP shot to a 40MP one. OIS ans AIS (AI Stabilisation) has been provided for stabilising the shots. Primary camera is capable enough to click amazing shots with great details even at night.
20MP Ultra-wide Sensor
The top-most camera is 20MP ultra-wide angle one with f/2.2 lens . The 20MP shooter has phase-detection autofocus and supports Super Macro Mode for photos from as close as 2.5cm. Huawei has improved its Night Mode to work better with the ultra-wide angle camera on the P30 Pro, though - it now takes up to 8 or 9 seconds to capture and the images are much better.

Huawei P30 Pro Design
Huawei P30 Pro follows the same design as expected. This flagship features a glass on both sides which makes Huawei P30 Pro premium. Gradient finish back panel has also made its way to the P30 Pro, as all the huawei's phones has same gradient design. Without any doubt, the most astonishing thing of the Huawei P30 Pro is its telephoto camera which is a 8MP sensor equipped with a f/3.4 lens.
This has been named as SuperZoom lens by Huawei and can provide high-fidelity magnification up to 5 times optical zoom, 10 times hybrid zoom, and 50 times digital zoom. This camera sensor also comes with OIS.
This sensor isn’t a standard sensor but instead, comes with a prism element integrated into it to give users a periscope module. This will allow the light entering the sensor to bend at a right angle in order to maximise the focal length, without increasing the camera height or disrupting the design.
Time-of-Flight (TOF) Camera
The fourth and last camera is a TOF sensor which serves two functions - to enhance the speed of autofocus and to capture depth information in portrait clicks.
As the TOF sensor gives better multi-layer mapping, you get more accurate multi-level bokeh simulation and great portrait shots.
For charging this 4200mAh battery, there is a 40W SuperCharger included in the box which charges the same very quickly.
Huawei P30 Pro is a great smartphone to buy. Huawei P30 Pro has all amazing specs, features, great display, awesome design and much more. It is sure a camera beast. It has set a benchmark in flagship smartphone indusry, especially in cameras department.
But, it lags behind the competition in terms of resolution of the display which is just a Full-HD+ while other vendors are going for a QHD+ displays at this price point. Huawei P30 Pro has also ditched its stereo speakers setup and hardware based Face-unlock system.
But, then also Huawei P30 Pro will be a worthy competitor in this price range competing against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Iphone XS, Pixel 3 and others.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the Huawei phone review. This brand phone is amazing. Its features are awesome. My brother has been also used this brand phone for the last two years. But recently, He was stuck in the problem. When he inserts another network SIM into the phone, his phone got locked. Then he dialed *#06# into the phone and shared the IMEI number of the phone. Using this method he unlocked his phone without facing any difficulties. If your phone also got locked during changing the network carrier of the SIM then this is the best method for unlocking the phone.
