Realme 3 Pro has finally arrived after a lot of hype and with the tag of Redmi Note 7 Pro killer. So, let us go through the Realme 3 Pro and try to find whether Realme 3 Pro really stands tall against the Redmi note 7 Pro or not.

Realme 3 Pro Design

Realme 3 Pro admires almost the same look and feel of its non-Pro variant, ie., Realme 3, though it does have pronouncing differences. Most recognised one is the new S-shaped lines which represents speed, as per Realme, that sounds interesting, isn't it.

The Polycarbonate back panel of Realme 3 Pro looks amazing and eye-catching, thanks to the gorgeous gradient finish.

I would appreciate a glass back over a poly-carbonate one, because glass builds feels more premium and its competitor, say Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with the glass back over it. But, the polished plastic back also provides a glass-like look and feel.

The back panel used here is home for fingerprints and smudges and it also sometimes slippery to hold.

Apart from these, Realme 3 Pro features a dual camera setup, fast and snappy fingerprint scanner on the rear side.

Now, coming to the front side, Realme 3 Pro provides a IPS LCD screen with a tear-drop notch attm the top and very little bezels around all sides, which does look promising. There is also a selfie camera in the notch.

You will get usual placements of dual SIM tray with dedicated microSD slot, speaker vent, microphones, 3.5mm audio jack, and a disappointing Micro USB port.

The lack of USB type-C in the Realme 3 Pro is a bit disappointing, as all its competitors like Redmi Note 7 Pro and Samsung phones has moved to Type-C. But, the included fast VOOC 3.0 charger in the box makes me happier and nice.

Realme 3 Pro Display

Coming to the display front, Realme 3 Pro features a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD display which uses a dewdrop notch implementation to incorporate better screen-to-body ratio. The screen offers the resolution of 2340x1080p and 409ppi pixel density.

The screen goes very bright in outdoors over 400 nits as claimed by the company. The viewing angles are great. The display on the Realme 3 Pro produces vibrant colours, great whites, and overall it is better than the display of Realme 2 Pro.

The Gorilla Glass 5 protection has been added to ensure the protection of the screen which is a decent upgrade over Gorilla Glass 3 used over earlier Realme 2 Pro.

Realme 3 Pro Performance

Realme 3 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC coupled with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Snapdragon 710 is an octa-core chipset built over 10nm process. All the task we ran on this phone looks very snappy and fluid. There were no hiccups or lags observed.

There were range of debates over the processors used in Redmi Note 7 Pro and Realme 3 Pro. The Snapdragon 675 used on Redmi Note 7 Pro is somewhat better than 710 used on Realme 3 Pro interms of CPU, but, when GPU is taken into account, Snapdragon 710 is better. In your personal usage, you will not going to experience any difference in performance of the processors.

Realme 3 Pro Software

Realme 3 Pro comes with a custom ColorOS 6.0 user interface built over Android Pie 9.0 out of the box. I am not a big fan of ColorOS but the sixth version of ColorOS is much improved one. Now, we also get a app drawer and features like fast face unlock, app clone, etc.

I embraces the fact that the ColorOS 6.0 does not shows ads in its UI, unlike MIUI and Experience UI on Samsung phones. However, I would appreciate the stock android experience on Realme phones and others.

Realme 3 Pro Cameras

In camera department, the rear camera module on the Realme 3 Pro comes with dual cameras setup -  16MP (f/1.7) and 5MP(f/2.4) depth sensor. The 16MP camera comes with the same Sony IMX 519 sensor used in OnePlus 6T which is great.

The photos clicked by the rear cameras are quite impressive. The photos captured has great colours, details and brightness. Dynamic range is good as per price of the smartphone considered.

A bit oversaturation is observed in some cases, but, you can use Chroma Boost option to make the saturation better. Overall the shots are promising and quite well. Also, the colours are slightly improved when the built in AI functionability kicks in.

The camera app on the Realme 3 Pro is also feature packed including features like Nightscape, Ultra HD mode and much more. Nightscape is just a name for night mode in Realme 3 Pro and in Ultra HD mode, it takes four shots and produce a 64MP Ultra-HD photo.

Now, talking about the front camera, it is a 25MP selfie shooter with a f/2.0 lens. The selfie camera is also quite good and in brief usage I prefer the selfies of Realme 3 Pro over that of Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Videos can be recorded up to 4K resolution at 30fps and super slow motion at 960fps which is great.

Realme 3 Pro Battery

Realme 3 Pro pack a huge 4,045mAh battery which is more than enough to carry out daily tasks on a single charge depending on the usage patterns.

The battery can be charged up in just 80minutes using fast 20W VOOC 3.0 charger included in the box, which is just great.

Realme 3 Pro Price and Availabilty

Realme 3 Pro will be available in three variants -

4GB+64GB - Rs.13,999

6GB+64GB - Rs.15,999

6GB+128GB - Rs.16,999

Realme 3 Pro will be available in three colour options, namely Nitro Blue, Carbon Grey, and Lightning Purple.

Realme 3 Pro Verdict

So, thats all for Realme 3 Pro. Realme 3 Pro is great mid-range smartphone with capable cameras, fast charging system, great battery, and awesome performance.

However, it lags behind Redmi Note 7 Pro in terms of micro USB port used, and some plastic back. But, still Realme 3 Pro is great competition to Redmi Note 7 Pro and other smartphones in this price bracket.
